How does the booking process work?
Choosing your photo(s)
I ask my customers to send a few photos of their pets in order for me to establish their unique fur texture how it features in different lighting. I also ensure there is a close up photo to help me replicate the finer details and have a 'base' image.
Below are some examples of good photos to send:

Booking and completing your portrait
Once you have sent me your pet's photo(s), we will have a friendly chat about all of the finer details of your portrait, including my available dates to draw. When ready, I will send an invoice to your email to pay the non-refundable 35% deposit. I usually give three working days for this to be paid, however I am happy to extend this period to suit your needs as best as possible.

One week prior to drawing your pet, I will send a final invoice (unless paying in 3 installments, see F.A.Qs) with the remaining balance of the portrait. I like to give all of my customers a payment period that is open right up until the very evening before the portrait's start date for their convenience.
Posting your portrait
Once your portrait is complete, I will inform you via email and let you know its date of postage - usually the next working day, excluding Sundays.
Included will be a hand-written Certificate Of Authenticity. This document is vital to ensuring the value and legitimacy of the artwork: it contains my hand-signed signature and the date of the portrait's production.
It is placed into a protective, transparent sleeve and then carefully wrapped in delicate tissue paper. It is then sealed with a sticker. Every commission I receive means a great deal to me, so along with the certificate I also include a personalised thank you note.

F.A.Qs
I only have old photographs of my pet and cannot take a new one to fit the criteria above, can you still draw a pet portrait?
I have had many customers who are no longer able to take a picture of their beloved pet that ticks all the points in the above checklist. I am always happy to work around this and see if there is a way to draw a portrait and I always recommend they send me the photos they do have in their possession to see what we can do.
Why is the 35% deposit non-refundable?
The reason artists request a deposit be paid before completing any piece of art is to filter out the non-serious commission requests.
How do the payment plans work?
Customers are able to pay off their portrait in three payments: the 35% deposit is paid first as normal, I then request the second payment before I begin working on your portrait and then the third before I post the portrait to you. This final payment will also include the postage cost.
How long does it take for a portrait to be drawn?
I usually quote between 4-6 weeks (depending on the complexity) for your portrait's completion. This time frame takes into account my university study which is predominantly research-led and intensive. It ensures I have adequate time dedicated to my education and to your portrait.
